Welcome to July! Check Out These Board Games for Summer Homebody Fun.
If you like games, this one's for you!
Hey homebody friend!
Can you believe it’s July 1st?
My kids will be back in school in a month, that’s wild.
I can’t believe how quickly the summer months can go.
Do you think this season zips by or crawls with its thick humidity and sunshine so harsh it triggers headaches, squinty eyes, and has you wishing you’d stayed in?
I have a love-hate for the summer season.
I live in Texas.
Need I say more?
This is my least favorite weather season yet I thrive in the laid-back nature of summer. Which is this introverted homebody’s dream.
How is the weather where you reside?
Do you love this season or do you feel it’s overrated?
In today’s letter, let’s chat about fun ways to stay indoors in these steamy months and have as much fun as if you were out at the lake or ocean every day!
There are so many ideas to write about, and so many topics to cover, that would appeal to the homebody. I have a hard time narrowing it down sometimes. I think I can’t be too narrow because what if it doesn’t appeal to some of you?
But, I need to get over that.
Writing a newsletter is tricky (for me).
So today, I want to talk about games!
Whether you’re in a family or you reside in a home with just yourself, games can be a great way to enjoy a quiet (or loud!) evening at home.

Adult Board Games
In today’s letter, I’m going to focus on adult board games and card games. At a later date, I’ll do one about family board and card games. (Although, if you have older kids, some of these may apply to y’all still, too.)
Many of the games are for multiple players, while a few are 1+ players - so if you want a chill night at home, alone, some of these games will still work for you.
Just One

Wordle

"Wordle" encourages logical thinking, deduction, and vocabulary skills, making it a thrilling and engaging game for word enthusiasts of all ages.

Do you have a favorite board game?
My in-laws love playing cards and board games. Every time we get together, there’s some kind of game going on.
Though mostly cards, there’s always fun play going on.
I’m considering purchasing 1 new board game and 1 new card game for the summer months.
Are any of these board games interesting to you?
So, until next time, wishing you a happy homebody summer!
Love, Nell
